An Introduction To Me

Anyone can count the seeds in an apple - but only God can count the apples in a seed

January 2023

Hello and an Introduction

I may have other social media profiles, but this blog is not about me. Over the years, as a Christian, I’ve grappled with how to bring God and Christ to others. I can share one on one, can listen, can offer God’s point of view as I understand it. And in many cases, I may be able to relate on my own personal level.

All wonderful, but limited, although God can and has used those opportunities with me. I’m not an evangelizer – or worse – a ‘Bible thumper’ – ugh!    However, I’m a writer, and I thank God for that gift, so I feel led to use that gift as a means to tell people about God, about what He means to me, and hopefully what He can mean to you.

I’ve started several stories, Christian-themed, wondering if that’s the venue I’m meant to use. But on the morning, January 4 2023, I believe it was shown to me that using a blog is the way to go. And so I will heed His prompting and see where this path will lead. This is all about Him.

And seeing as I’m closing in on having lived 7 decades, time may not be the luxury for me it once was.

You might wonder, how can I relate to you? Below are basic facts of my life and maybe, in there somewhere, something will resonate with you and make a connection.

·                     Had a mother who instilled in me the understanding that I could ‘talk’ with God anytime, not just in Church.

·                     Have always depended on God.

·                     Raised, and confirmed, in the Anglican Church (Canada)

·                     Married, 3 children (and now 6 grandchildren) and began to follow the teachings of Herbert W. Armstrong (The Worldwide Church of God) Eventually joining. (There’s a whole book in that time of my life!)

·                     Baptized, and born again, into the body of Christ, with my husband, May 1988

·                     Drifted away from that organization and later became involved with the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada, where I hosted Alpha small groups, and later, co-hosted with a good friend, other small groups. Often experiencing wonderful, and comforting, spiritual breakthroughs – and enemy blindsides.

·                     Have spoken in tongues.

·                     Without going into a lot of detail, I separated from my husband, for about ten years. During that time we suffered the tragic death of our daughter-in-law. On the spiritual side I experienced a lot of growth, and with God’s intervention my husband and I eventually reconciled. I am grateful every day my husband was willing to start over with me.

·                     Currently we are not attending any specific church – which we need to correct because I do believe strongly in the assembling together of the saints (imperfect though we ALL are). Not blaming it on COVID or any other factor, other than perhaps setting the bar too high.

·                     I support Israel and the Messianic Church and the more I understand the Old Testament the more I see that there is a coming together of Jew and Gentile, as is God’s plan.

·                     I’m retired, but have published 6 fictional books – mystery genre – which has been a childhood dream. I co-write with another author.

So in a very small nutshell, that’s me. And probably enough for this introduction.

I would love to hear from you, if anything I’ve said resonates.

I truly believe time is short, not just because of my age, but because the world is very, very broken and the only answer is Jesus Christ.

In coming posts I hope to talk more about Him, His impact on my life. And to let this blog evolve as He directs.

In His Name –

Liz
